The garden is starting to come to life, little by little, particularly where the bulbs are concerned.
The daffodils and the tulips in the back of the house were so eager to get going that they began to sprout in February during an unusual warm spell. Then they stopped being so eager when the temperature dropped and it snowed. But now, theres no holding them back.
Its tough to keep these bulbs from poking their little heads out very early in the year because the sun beats down on this area for most of the day, warming up the spot quite well, which confuses the plants into thinking that spring has arrived.
And then theres this little perennial that is growing like a weed, faster than anything else in the garden. Quite the ambitious one, isnt it? Its Aquilegia 'McKana Hybrids', a pretty little plant that produces beautiful flowers. Cant wait to see it in full bloom.
There are other tiny signs of growth around the garden, and you can be sure that I will be sharing oodles of photos with you all over the next few months! Lucky you, eh?
