I remember them very well, particularly because of the way they shattered into a million razor-sharp pieces if they ever crashed to the floor. And that made them very dangerous, especially for bare feet.
My mother-in-law gave us a box full of these last Christmas when we visited her. We oohed and ahhed and thanked her with exaggerated enthusiasm, and then promptly stored them in the basement as soon as we got home. Because not one of them would survive a house with two cats in it if they ever came out into the open. And perhaps a paw or two would get sliced. OUCH! So they'll remain in storage for all eternity. Or as long as our furry girls rule the house.
