Studio Apartment Tour: Kavita Shanbhag

How have you been my favorite people?
I am back to blogging after a short hiatus. I was in need of a digital detox vacation with my family and my dear parents. And the best thing is, I planned it and executed it. It was quite satisfying and rejuvenating vacation. Now I have the home tours lined up for this month. And today on 3D you will get to learn how you can make use of every inch of space in a tiny apartment. Today's guest is joining us from Mumbai, a city where you can't imagine owning a dwelling with different rooms for everything. Kavita owns a studio apartment in Mumbai and sharing how she turned the house into a home.

Kavita is a special educator trained to teach children with special needs. She is an activist in the Rehabilitation field, founder & managing trustee of ChildRaise Trust empowering children & adults with special needs. She is a creative head of  www.childraise.com, writer on disability related issues.
I would like to share that Kavita has provided a toll-free disability helpline number1800-22-1203 so that you can share it with people who need any such assistance or guidance.
Now let's take a look at her well organized and beautifully decorated studio apartment in Mumbai.

Describe your home in just a few words:
Kavita: My Home is my Haven & Heaven!

Whether your house is an apartment or a villa, its area and no. of rooms:

Kavita: We have three apartments in the same society in Matunga, Mumbai. Till my son got married
we used to stay in 1 BHK flat. Handing over the bigger flat to the young couple, we, the senior
couple moved to a cozy 225 square feet studio apartment in the adjacent reconstructed building.

Tell us about yourself, your family and location:
Kavita: Hi!! Kavita Shanbhag here. Our close family consists of me, my husband Devrai (who started Lily Caterers, handed over his flourishing business to his team to manage & now a passionate traveller). His blog Devooswanderings is a place where he shares his travel experiences. My daughter is a veterinary doctor. she is married & resides in downtown Toronto with her engineer husband. My son is a market analyst, recently got married to a Sales Tax officer.
For all three of us (me, my daughter & DIL), our careers being not from art field, doing handicraft, decorating, reading about art, designing & decorating gives us the creative happiness. We are a close-knit family, live and enjoy life with our extended family & a fantastic bunch of pretty interesting friends.

Indian Decor Ideas

We are fortunate to live in a very central place like Matunga Road (Western Line) in Mumbai.
You will love it for the sheer fact that it is just 225 square feet at Matunga Road (west), Mumbai . And how we have made the most of every square foot.
Previously, after returning from US my daughter, Preeti,  who is a veterinary doctor stayed in this cosy flat till her marriage and moving to Toronto. She designed the whole place. The first few snaps are when only she was staying there & used to run a home bakery unit as a hobby & passion.

Images that you see below are when Kavita with her husband moved into this tiny apartment and decorated it .

Whats your decorating style:
Kavita: I dont think mine can be named as any style by any standards. But I think I try to do maximum with minimum!

Indian Decor Ideas

Where do you get the inspiration from:

Kavita: My inspiration in life has been my Mother. I admire her for her enthusiasm to do DIY greeting cards, writing small poems etc., giving personal touches to her home at the young age of 91. Since childhood, I have been watching her putting in her best efforts making four walls into a Home! I also like to browse design blogs like yours, design/ interior magazines, websites, sharing ideas with like-minded friends, love to visit people & see how they keep/decorate their homes, decor shops.

Indian Decor Ideas

Which is your favorite spot in your home and why:

Kavita: My Mini Grill Garden! Love to have hot chai sitting on the granite bench & read a book with our pet cats Figo & Mia near me. It is just so calming!

When we moved in the studio apartment it was similar to like answering questions like if you are stranded on an island what are the few things you would like to have. So it was just the necessities & few aesthetic cute tiny little things around them. Exception- my husbands dream recliner was on sale & he had to have it despite it being so huge. I didnt want to oppose because that is the only furniture/dcor thing he has ever wanted in the house besides of course his cookware. Secondly, it also serves as an extra couch/bed when fully opened. I think he will be flattered if that is called a statement piece.  Otherwise, mostly plants in different pots, shells, photographs, candle stands, fridge magnets from our various travels, the fabric blinds add the colour to my home.

Indian Decor Ideas

What are your hobbies:
Kavita: Music, drama, watching movies, writing, any art form and yes travelling with my hubby.

Please give your valuable advice to dcor enthusiast 3D readers:
Kavita: Go on arranging & rearranging till your eyes & heart tell you, Yes...this is it!

I hope you enjoyed this tour and got to learned some tips & tricks to decorate small spaces when you don't have the luxury to toss everything into a spare room. Thanks Kavita for sharing images of your beautiful home with us. We wish you love, luck & sunshine!!

Home Tour: Chandra Kargupta

Hello world!!

I know I had disappeared from the blogland for a few weeks but don't worry, I am back again with a promised home tour of the month. Chandra and Siddhartha Kargupta, the proud owners of the home are allowing us to take a peek inside their home which is a true reflection of India in London.

Indian Decor

Let me first introduce Chandra to you. She is north Indian classical and semi-classical vocalist and she also manages Wimbledon Library in London. When she shared a link to her website with me and told me about her passion for music and home decor, I knew that I am getting to know an extraordinary person.
Indian Home Tour

I clicked the link she shared right away and would you believe that I listened to the Indian classical music for the first time and I am glad that I did. I spent a good amount of time listening to Indian classical songs sung by Chandra. Among Dadra-Ghiri ghiri ayee, Bhairavi, Thumari and Pilu, Thumari has become my favorite. I could sense the presence of goddess Saraswati in Chandra's voice. If you dear readers wish to listen to the classical songs sung by Chandra then here is the link for you www.chandrachakraborty.info
Here is a tete-a-tete with Chandra as she shows us thoughtfully curated corner of her home and tells us the stories behind every object and a heart touching story of her marriage.

Indian Home Tour

Describe your home in just a few words:
Chandra: "Home is where the art is."
I meditate and practice my music in the morning and you can smell the lovely incense as soon as you enter. Visitors always say that they feel very relaxed at my house. I travel a lot for my concerts and collect items directly from handicraft workers. Rino, Tom and Jerrys unconditional love takes the whole days stress away as soon as we walk in through the door. We love our home.

Indian Home Decor

Whether your house is an apartment or a villa:
Chandra: It is a detached house with 4 bedrooms.

Tell us about yourself, your family and location:
Chandra: We are originally from Kolkata. I was like an adopted daughter of great Indian Classical Music maestro Pt A Kanan and Smt. Malabika Kanan and was a research scholar at Kolkata Sangeet Research Academy since I was 12 years old. Guruma arranged my marriage at the early age of 18 with Siddhartha, who was also like their son. When we got married, Sid was only 23. However, Guruma Smt Malabika Kanan was in support of an early marriage and thought if I get married to someone else, then my music may be ruined but because Sid was also a music lover, sings extremely well and considered Guruji and Ma as his second parent, getting married to him would be ideal. I and Siddhartha basically grew up together and supported each other in every stage of life and I dont regret getting married so early. There is an age difference of 19 years between me and my son so I enjoy being his mother (when required) and being his best friend. After marriage, I continued with my study as well as music and used to go to gurujis house every morning and come back at night. We moved to Johannesburg in 1996 due to Sids work and I also started working there as the principle vocal teacher of the Indian Consulate and later joined Witwatersrand University as a lecturer of music. We moved to London in 2000 and currently British Citizen.  We live in Sutton, Surrey. 20 min drive from Wimbledon. Our son Srimanta has just completed his graduation from the University Of London. He is a British Champion in Kung Fu. We also have 3 four legged children- Rino (Labrador), Tom and Jerry (Cavalapso twins), two large cages of Canaries, budgies and finches, two Degus ( they are a mix of Guinea pigs and rats) and a tank full of gold fishes. Some of the birds are born in the house. They fly around us when we are at home and go back to their cage at night.

Indian Decor Ideas

Whats your decorating style:
Chandra: I love artwork and I am really passionate about handicrafts. Whenever I visit India, I travel to rural areas and collect decorative items for my house. I have collected so many items that I change the decoration every now and then and place different items every time. We never feel bored because after every few months the house looks completely different.
The decorating style is also influenced by Feng Shui. I have been practicing this ancient Chinese Vastu for the last 20 years and according to the natal chart of the year, every year things need to move around from one side to another anyway.

Indian decor

My house is decorated with inexpensive things, mostly handicrafts from rural parts of India and Africa. I try to find cheap things from the local market and decorate those with my own paintings to give a different look. As an example, the white lampshade in the corner of the dining room is from a local street market (only 4), then I painted Rajasthani style horses and elephants on it. Everyone keeps on asking where did I get that from and this is what my idea about home dcor is- home is where art is!

Indian Home Decor

The entrance -  The golden Feng shui Laughing Budda, I collected this from a street market in Mozambique while I was touring for concerts. When we moved from Jo Burg to London, this Buddha was placed in a large cardboard box with several other home dcor items. When the container arrived after a month by ship and I opened the boxes, I was actually shocked that the more hardy items placed in the same box were either a little bit broken here and there and some were completely smashed but the Buddha was intact without a single scratch!
This one shows the walls at the entrance hallway. I have done some warli painting and you can see the picture of our traditional Bengali wedding here.

Indian Home Tour

In the hallway - The picture of us getting married! It has been 25 years but it feels like yesterday! Also the white Ganesha on the wall. This marble Ganesh was presented to me after one of my concerts in Pakistan.

Indian Decor

In the living room- A wall and a table inside the living room with my Ganesha collection.

Indian Decor Ideas

The coffee table is my most favourite. When we moved to Jo Burg, we didnt have much money as that was a very early stage of our career! We were in a rented apartment and could only buy a small dinner table with a few minimum furniture. The legs of the table broke while shifting our stuff to London but my son loved this table so much that I couldnt throw the glass top, thought I might use it one day! A year before last, I was visiting my grandparents' house that is far away from Kolkata in a rural area. While walking through the village, I saw a lady cooking rice in a clay pot. I had an idea and collected a few of those pots from a local street market. Placed those pots under the glass top to make my own little centre table. I also love my collection of Ganesha on the table as well as on the wall in this room.
Indian Decor Ideas

In the kitchen- Silver 'paan daan' set is my absolute favorite and I also love my wooden spoons from Africa. I love to paint on different materials. I painted Jamini Roy's horses on one of the kitchen walls.

Indian Decor

This is my favourite spot where I have a brass spoon on the wall, my own painting of horses and a paper pulp Ganesha. While cooking, at times I sit here to relax.

Indian Home

In the dining room- Love this corner next to the diwan. I make porcelain dolls and you can see one here, some family pictures and this is the place where I spend a lot of time when I am free on Sundays, reading and looking at the garden through the large glass wall.

Indian Home Decor

Clay dolls from Bengal, Rajasthani dolls, another of my porcelain dolls, the corner table in the dining room- you can see a red sindoor daan here that is used in Bengal when we get married, my painting of a peacock on the wall and some more clay dolls from Bengal.

Indian Decor Ideas

Where do you get the inspiration from:
Chandra: My mother Manju Chakraborty loves to decorate the house. She has always been my inspiration. I also read a lot of books on home decoration and visit the blogs almost every day to get new ideas.

Indian Decor Ideas

Which is your favourite spot in your home and why:
Chandra: There are so many! But if I have to mention only one, then it is in front of the bronze Ganesha in the living room, next to the center table. I practice my music here.

What are your hobbies:
Chandra: Although I work full-time as a Manager of Wimbledon Library, my main profession is singing. I paint, make porcelain dolls and statues with marble stone powder too. My husband Dr. Siddhartha Kargupta is a computer scientist turned entrepreneur but he is also an excellent singer. He doesnt do it professionally, though. Our Son Srimanta is a good painter and a photographer, plays guitar and he is also a good writer. He has won several awards including Mary McPherson award for fiction writing.

Please give your valuable advice to dcor enthusiast 3D readers:
Chandra: Do read blogs and books on home dcor to get ideas but while decorating your house, have one item in each room that is your own idea and not copied from somewhere else. You will always feel proud.
Here is an image of Chandra's garden where she entertains guests and enjoys her time with family.

Indian Decor Idesa

Chandra's home is a treasure chest of all things Indian and truly reflects her vivacious personality. She had sent me lots of images and I thought I would make a beautiful video tour of her home but due to time constraint I would be doing that later. Home Tour: Kapila Banerjee

I am so glad to share that
3D readers across the globe are reaching out to me to showcase their one of a kind, reflection of their own personalities, filled with memories and stunning homes on my blog Design Decor & Disha. I already have four more home tours lined up for the next two months one from Canada, one from London, one from Mumbai and one from the city I am living in. And I have decided to feature two home tours in a month. Are you excited!! Here's what I have in my bag today. Enjoy!!

Today's home tour is special because it's from my hometown Indore, where I spent my youth and formative years of life. The city built by queen Ahilya Bai Holkar is known for its architectural splendours, mouth-watering culinary delights and also known as the birth land of vocal Gharana of Indian classical music, Indore Gharana. I can talk endlessly about Indore but then we have a beautiful home to talk about today, so just sit back and relax and enjoy this home tour.

Indian home Tour

This beautiful abode is owned by Kapila and Sonal Banerjee, a couple who is equally enthusiastic about home decor as we are all here at 3D. Kapila is a multifaceted lady who not only has a keen interest in home decorating but also paints very well. Most of the paintings in her home are done by herself. Decor in this home is a beautiful collision of Indian and international cultures. Let's take a tour of this home as Kapila describes her style, talks about her passion and lot more.

Indian Home Tour

Describe your home in just a few words:
Kapila: Bright, vibrant, colourful with lifes nostalgic journey till date.
.
Whether it's an apartment or an independent house:
Kapila: Its an apartment having 2 floors.

It's area:
Kapila: Our current house is a 1900 sqft having 3 rooms and an independent terrace to ourselves.

Indian Home Tour

Tell us about yourself, your family and location:
Kapila: Proud & blessed mother of twin daughters. Have lived my early childhood at Indore, back during the college days I had very passionate interest in trying my hands at interior designing which led me learning basic through the formal diploma in interior designing. While I could not pursue it as a profession but the interest continued right from the time when I did the dcor of my parental house to my own house after marriage. Being happily married to Sonal for nearly 13 years and counting, we have been moving places due to work demands of Sonal from Indore at the start point or marriage and subsequently to Gwalior,Mumbai, and Kolkata within India before going on an overseas trip with livestock and baggage to Kenya, Africa for about 4 years.

Wall Decor

Though I have returned back with kids to Indore where we have our own house, Sonal continued his overseas stint and works at Yangon, Myanmar. By the way, I worked for more than a decade in various corporate organisations before taking sabbatical due to motherhood taking precedence over work. I am a strong believer of a woman being independent and yet continue to be playing multiple roles as we have been doing for years. Motherhood has given a new meaning to me and which like everyone I have always cherished.

Indian Decor Ideas

Both I and Sonal have always liked and cherished Indore as a city with middle-class values & vibrancy, weather and its ever changing development landscape. We shall eventually build our own house from the first brick to the dcor and guess who shall be in command of our future project ..

Indian Home Tour

Well, no prizes for guessing, we all know it already and we love how you decorate. Tells us about your decorating style:
Kapila: Playing with colours, artefacts in both vintage & contemporary style and furniture have been the central theme of all my dcor. I love fresh plants and flowers all around.

Indian Home Tour

I have also tried to carry reminiscence of key dcor items from each city where I have lived since my marriage so that the dcor also has a reflection of my journeys in life till date.

Indian Decor Ideas

The Buddha in the above picture is from Yangon and peacocks from Bangkok street shopping. The wooden box is from Masai Mara Kenya.

Indian Home Tour

Where do you get the inspiration from:
Kapila: My biggest inspiration was in being self-creative in my parents house and with Sonal after marriage. Our marital life started with a bare minimum, almost an empty house having just a simple mattresses. Time never stopped since then and both of us have also not stopped our common passion for house collectibles. My daughters aged 8 have also developed a taste for dcor of their own room in specific style and a sense of appreciation for any new dcor or changes in the house. My close friend Hemal too has also been instrumental in inspiring me in my efforts.

Indian home Tour

Which is your favourite spot in your home and why:
Kapila: The family room where I spend most of my time with kids and my extended family. Day bed corner is the most comforting zone in the house with natural light and fresh air from the adjoining balcony.

Indian Home Tour

What are your hobbies:
Kapila: Home dcor, painting, full-time rearing of my daughters, and finally to be a hopeful small time home dcor entrepreneur in the time ahead.

Please give your valuable advice to dcor enthusiast 3D readers:
Kapila: Try new things with earthenware dcor, be updated on trends, use fresh plants and flowers and finally its not about the size but about the space utility.

Indian Home Tour

I loved each nook and corner of this tastefully done up home and I am inspired to make some changes in my home too. What about you dear readers, how do you find this home and which one is your favorite room/decor accessory. If you wish to see more of her home check out Kapila's Instagram feed and Pinterest account.

See you all soon with a blog on monsoon decor. Stay Tuned!!

Home Tour: Padmamanasa Jwalaniah

Few months ago,
I received a request from a lovely reader of 3D to feature a home of a fellow blogger and a dear friend Padmamanasa. The request was so sweet and tempting that I couldn't resist asking Manasa if it was possible. Despite her super busy schedule, Manasa took out the time to send me some dazzlingly beautiful images of her strikingly beautiful home. Manasa blogs sporadically at ForTheLoveOfSunshineCorners, a blog loved by all the decor enthusiasts and is quite addictive. Here is a tte--tte with Manasa as she takes us through her collected, curated and most importantly a created home.

Thank you, Disha for featuring our home in my favourite decor and lifestyle blog - Design Decor & Disha. We live in a beautiful green city  - Bangalore, India. We have been living in this work-in-progress home ,which we recreate everyday, for past 12 years.

Entrance to the home lends the cheerful and positive vibes. Dashavtar above the door frame was painted by her husband and Guruvaayoorappan painting in the foyer is also done by Manasa's extremely talented artist husband Pradosh Nair. Surprised!! Well, most of the paintings in their home are done by Pradosh. In case you are tempted to see more of his work, Blobs Of Rainbow is the blog where you can have a look.

Indian Decor

I grew up in a small town in southern part of Karnataka, with a lot of greens grown on the terrace in the 80s! My parents believed in utilitarian/ functional value of the things they brought home. But that did not stop me from spending lot of time dreaming of/ decorating/ redecorating the old large home with whatever we had :)

Indian Home Decor

Manasa is a person who is charming, warm and full of energy and her home is a true reflection of her personality. All the rooms have a feature wall painted in bold colours that exude warmth. In the living room, orange wall sets a perfect backdrop for wooden cabinets and brass knick-knacks on them. Furnishings are complementing the wall colour and making the place look cohesive.

Indian Home Decor

A large Madhubani painting on the wall and a shelf that holds her breathtakingly beautiful collection of brass create a focal point in the living room. Manasa has a knack for adding a special home accent called 'life' and cleverly uses it to transform her space into an inspiring and elegant den. Do you know how it started all.
Manasa claims,
"I guess I shared the love for lovely spaces from my maternal uncle and my older brother. My older brother, who spent quite a few years in the middle east, came back with a lot of decor magazines. I remember drooling over these magazines for hours together as a school going girl. I guess the love for beautiful spaces started there."

Indian Home Decor

Placed in a corner in the living room and enhancing the beauty of the space is this working gramophone that Manasa had won in the contest and her prize winning entry was an image of her remarkably attractive balcony garden. Don't worry, we will take a look of her balcony too :)
Manasa adds cheerfully that "What a pleasure it is to hear to old Bengali songs in an antique gramophone. It is a sheer bliss transporting us to re-independence era, I tell you!"

Indian Home Decor

Nataraja statue graces the another corner of the living room. 'Beautiful' would be an understatement for this majestic idol. Manasa knows the decor philosophy quite well and has placed all the home accents in such a way that they offer a place for the eye to rest and admire the beauty of it.

Indian Home decor

Manasa recalls her journey of decorating various homes she has lived in over the period of time, "fast forward to the hostel/ PG days when I moved to Bangalore/ Delhi. I spent a lot of energy and had loads of fun in decorating my space on shoe string budget! I spent quite a few evenings at Hauzkhas and Janpath Marg to set-up my tiny hostel room. Then came 2 bedroom rented space at Bangalore. This time, I had little more budget, as I moved from assistantship to salary :)  Then came the current home.

Let's take a look at her dining room. Ochre and brown play the key role here in creating a warm and cosy dining space. An oversized mirror on the wall above the dark wood cabinet is not only creating an illusion of grandeur but also adding glamour to the space. 'The lone daisy' painting adorning the wall of the dining room is done by Pradosh again :)

Indian Decor

Beautiful display of family portraits in wooden picture frames bring striking elegance. It can easily bring back lots of memories and become a conversation starter while the family enjoys meals together.

Indian Home Decor

Spicing up the kitchen wasn't a big deal for Manasa. She is very creative and knows how to make things work and add style to any space. Paintings fill up the empty space making it lively and cheerful place to prepare meals for the family and a classic pendant light illuminate the kitchen in style. Did you notice the cute little step ladder in the corner. It holds all the recipe books, some knick-knacks and adds the aesthetic charm to the kitchen's interior.

Indian home Decor

A colourful ceramic spice rack is what I am eyeing in the below image, it's beautiful beyond words. Manasa's collection of glass bottles, pestle and mortar, oil dispensers and blue pottery is exquisite. A beautiful wooden rack in the corner is used to display her collection of mugs in vibrant hues.

Indian Home Decor

Manasa wanted a red wall in her home and this is the bedroom where the feature wall is red and grabbing all the attention. This wall is close to her heart for one more reason, it holds felicitation for her father. An antique teak wood bed that is more than 80 years old is the statement piece in the room. She has endless love for wood in a dark tone and vintage pieces.

Indian Home Decor

She has recently added these floating shelves on the same red wall to hold her evergrowing collection of books.

Indian Home Decor

Opposite to the red wall is this beautiful gallery wall that houses alluring paintings done by her husband Pradosh. Adding extra pizzazz to the gallery wall is a hanging brass diya.

Indian Home Decor

Bedside table acts as a stage to display the decor accents in the most facsinating ways. Manasa adds, "I can never spare my home from brass and solid dark wood."

Indian Home Decor

Seen below is their kids' room. Manasa has done a great job in kids' room by placing wooden rack and baskets that provide ample storage. All the books and board games are well organized and styled in the shelf  along with some toys and pictures of the kids.

Indian Home Decor

Applique work sheers on the window make the room look bright and dreamy.

Indian home Decor

'Crib-turned-sofa' the most clever upcycling project is what I would call it. After their daighter had grown up the crib was lying unused at the one corner of the kids' room consuming the space. Manasa put her thinking cap on and this cutest and functional sofa for the kids was the result.

Indian Home Decor

Now let's take a peek inside her bathroom and I am sure you will be spellbound with the creativity and aesthetic sense of this couple. Manasa tells us how this entralling corner came together,

I am a curator at heart and hubby is an artist! Our home has been the beneficiary of this!! (sometimes victim too :p). We have collected stuff over years and let gone off quite a bit. Both I & hubby are major fans of Goan architecture/  interiors/ sunny colours. We wanted to have a tiny goan corner at home for sometime now.  Hubby had presented a lovely tiled mirror for my birthday couple of years back. We had put this up at our hand wash corner. The colours were finalized, hubby zeroed in on ink blue colour. I was not particularly crazy about the beige back splash tiles, that came with the home. I wanted sunny yellow coloured tiles instead! And voila the tiles were painted sunny yellow!

No prizes for guessing that the painting is again by Pradosh. Did you like this Goan corner in Manasa's home? I am so determined that someday I will definitely try something like this in my home too :)

Indian Home Decor

This airy and breezy room is the master bedroom. Teal wall to add some calming effect in her sleep sanctuary. No space in her home is complete without the use of dark wood and painting by her husband. So their bedroom is no exception. A peaceful and attractive reading corner like this is every readers dream.

Indian Home Decor

And here's the prize-winning balcony garden of Manasa. The beautiful mural on the wall you see is hand painted by her. Little tweaks done by the duo in their home are quite impressive and commendable.
She adds,
This home is a ground floor flat with ever so tiny terrace. Fairly spacious balconies. (Comparison here is to what I call as terrace :P).12 years ago,  when the interiors guys did a fab job of making a home, an almost European one, little did he know what will become of his European interiors few years later!

Indian Home Decor

By now you all must have figured out that there has to be a piece of dark wood to quench Manasa's thirst for it and hence there lying a latt bench from Urban Ladder in her cosy and undesputedly gorgeous balcony garden.
She chimes in that, "this is our favourite place to sit & watch Bangalore rains, to do the homework, to sit down and read a book for adults & babies alike at home!."

Indian Home Decor

Here is one more view of her balcony garden. Beauty flows from each and every corner of her home.

Indian Home Decor

Now for all the brass and bronze lovers out there, this is something for you! I covet her stunning brass artefact collection. Do you?

Indian Home Decor

Here is what she says about her passion for metals, "I feel the brass & bronze artifacts are time-less & adds an old world charm to our place. I love the yellow gleam of brass urli's, gindis, para & nilavilakku. I love the texture of bronze & the character the metal adds."

This brass Tara idol is my favoutire. It is so majestic and there is something mystical about this picture.

Indian Home Decor

Manasa sums it up beautifully by saying, "I love the dark wood and creams and greens. Hubby loves the brass and colours. Son loves both and daughter is yet to decide! Our home, eventually what we love as family, believe our roots are and home is!"

It is time to wrap up and say good bye to you dear readers with one last picture from Manasa's heavenly abode.
